Monday is the last day of early voting in Illinois before Tuesday’s election.
In Chicago, 284,506 early ballots have been cast thus far, shattering the previous early voting record set in 2008. That year, 260,378 early ballots were cast in the city.
In suburban Cook County, 315,875 people had voted early as of Sunday afternoon. That’s more than the 226,084 early ballots cast in 2008 and 228,695 in 2012, according to Cook County Clerk David Orr.
