Progress Illinois EIC Takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (VIDEO)

Throughout the last week, we've seen politicians, celebrities and countless Americans take part in the ALS ice bucket challenge to raise awareness about the devastating progressive neurodegenerative disease and raise funds for the ALS Association.

Thanks to my buddy JD Stamper, it is now my turn to take part in the ice bucket challenge.

So I pledged to donate funds to the ALS Association and pour a lovely blast of bitterly cold ice water over my head.

Take a look:

Once I fulfilled my part of the challenge, it was my turn to nominate three people to participate in the ice bucket challenge for ALS awareness. As you can see in the video, I nominated Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis, SEIU Illinois Council and Local 1 President Tom Balanoff and MSNBC's Ed Schultz to take part in the challenge.

I also nominate the readers of Progress Illinois to take part in the ALS ice bucket challenge. Feel free to tweet us your videos @ProgressIL or post them on our Facebook page!
