The U.S. Justice Department's pattern and practice probe into the Chicago Police Department will be the focus of four upcoming public forums to be held across the city.
The Justice Department launched its civil rights investigation into the department's practices back in December in the wake of the police shooting death Laquan McDonald and the subsequent handling of the case.
"As part of its investigation, the Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney's Office will be hosting four public forums to provide information about its investigative process, advise how community members can contact the DOJ, and offer time for audience members to speak about their experiences with policing in Chicago," reads a Justice Department notice for the public meetings.
Here are the dates and locations of the upcoming forums:
June 20:
Malcolm X College
1900 W. Jackson Boulevard
June 22:
Kennedy-King College
710 W. 65th St.
July 12:
Harry S Truman College
1145 W. Wilson Ave.
July 14:
KROC Center - Chapel
1250 W. 119th St.
Each of the public forums will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
