U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) is endorsing Kim Foxx in the race for Cook County State's Attorney.
"Between her 12 years as a prosecutor and her time championing progressive reforms, Kim Foxx is more than ready to lead the state's attorney's office and restore faith in our justice system," Durbin said.
Foxx and Durbin are set to appear together for a formal announcement Friday morning in Chicago.
"Senator Durbin has been fighting on behalf of Cook County voters for decades," said Foxx. "I am pleased to receive his endorsement, and I look forward to working with him to advocate for sensible reforms in our criminal justice system."
Foxx has been endorsed by former Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Daily Herald, U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez (IL-4), U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (IL-9), U.S. Rep.
