Mike Schrimpf, who worked in Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner's administration, has become the communications director for Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich's presidential campaign.
Schrimpf also worked on Rauner's gubernatorial campaign and was a communications official at the Republican Governors Association.
"Mike Schrimpf remains a trusted adviser to Governor Rauner and will continue to advise the Illinois Republican Party throughout the year," Catherine Kelly, a spokeswoman for Rauner, told Politico in a statement. "With Schrimpf's departure, Lance Trover will serve as Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications while Richard Goldberg will serve as Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative Affairs and Strategic Initiatives."
Schrimpf's twin brother, Chris, is also working for the Kasich campaign, serving as the team's senior communications adviser.
