The Sierra Club Illinois Chapter released its endorsements Thursday in Illinois legislative primary races.

"Sierra Club is proud to recommend these candidates to Illinois voters who want to move beyond gridlock to create jobs in clean energy, protect our drinking water, and provide open space for our kids and future generations," the Sierra Club Illinois Chapter's Director Jack Darin said in a statement. "We've examined the records, and asked candidates where they stand on the questions Illinois faces about the health of our communities and environment today and for the future.  Springfield needs more leaders like these, who will put what's right for our future above partisan politics and special interests."
