A new poll conducted on behalf of Raja Krishnamoorthi's campaign shows him with a double-digit lead over fellow Democratic competitors in Illinois' 8th congressional district primary race.
Four-hundred likely Democratic voters in the 8th congressional district were surveyed by the polling firm GBA Strategies.
Among those surveyed, 41 percent supported businessman Krishnamoorthi of Schaumburg, followed by State Sen. Mike Noland (D-Elgin) at 27 percent and Villa Park Village President Deb Bullwinkel at 5 percent. Twenty-six percent of survey respondents were undecided.
The live telephone poll, conducted February 9 through February 11, has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
The 8th district seat is being vacated by Democratic U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth, who is running for U.S. Senate.
Illinois' 8th congressional district covers parts of Cook, DuPage and Kane counties. It stretches across the northwest suburbs of Arlington Heights, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates and several others.
