The Rauner administration says it will reestablish state tax breaks for movie making as well as corporate tax credits provided through the Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) program.
Gov. Bruce Rauner previously put a stop to the tax credits as a means to cut spending without a state budget in place.
However, no new tax credits will be awarded amid the budget stalemate, the administration said in a Tuesday announcement.
The administration has put stricter rules in place for the EDGE program. Among the new restrictions, a single facility will be prevented from getting more than one tax credit, and the administration has ended the ability for businesses to get tax credits simply for retaining jobs.
