With rumors circulating around the possible retirement of U.S. Rep. Danny Davis (D-IL,7), a downtown Chicago alderman says he's considering a potential run for Congress.
Greg Hinz at Crain's got a tip that Chicago Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) might be pondering a run for Davis' seat, should the long-serving congressman decide to retire. In response to Crain's inquiry about a possible run, Reilly said, "I have been encouraged to consider it seriously--so I'm doing that."
The 7th congressional district covers portions of downtown Chicago as well as the city's South and West Sides and some western suburbs.
