The Illinois Senate passed a Right to Try measure Thursday that, if signed, will let terminally ill patients try experimental medications. The House passed the bill Wednesday.
The legislation, SB 29, is now headed to the governor's desk, and chief sponsor Sen. Michael Connelly (R-Wheaton) said he is "fairly confident" that Gov. Bruce Rauner will sign it.
Rauner spokesman Catherine Kelly would not comment on whether the governor would sign the bill, only saying that he will look over it when it reaches him.
