The Illinois Republican Party elected new members to their State Central Committee as well as county chairs Wednesday evening. The committee members are "charged their County Chairs and State Central Committeemen and Committeewomen with electing Republicans across the state, ending ten years of one-party Democrat control, and changing the painful economic reality of the state under Gov. Pat Quinn."
“The Democrats in Illinois have been an absolute failure on jobs, on the budget, and on keeping their promises. The leaders we selected today will help guide our party forward, hold Gov. Quinn accountable for his failures, and elect Republicans up and down the ticket,” said Jack Dorgan, chairman of the Illinois Republican Party, in a release announcing the election's results.
