The Archdiocese of Chicago is planning to close about six schools in Chicago and the suburbs at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.
The names of all of the schools set to be shuttered is expected on Friday, but Our Lady of Victory School on Chicago's Northwest Side already noted on its Facebook page that the school will close on June 30 if school officials cannot shave $400,000 from its budget annually, which originally came from the archdiocese.
Santa Maria Del Popolo School in Mundelein is also expected to be on the closing list. According to the Daily Hearld, school officials told parents and staff the school is set to be shuttered on June 30 due to financial woes and low enrollment.
