The Sangamon County Board approved a $99.6 million budget by a 25-1 vote Tuesday. Board member Tony DelGiorno voted against the budget.
The county budget has increased by a bit more than $2 million from the previous year. There are reportedly no layoffs outlined in the budget, although it is down by 10 employees due to attrition, according to Sangamon County Administrator Brian McFadden.
The highest expenses outlined in the upcoming fiscal year's budget are $34.8 million for payroll; pensions at $5.5 million; and health insurance at $4.1 million, which decreased by $200,000 compared to the previous year's budget.
The budget goes into effect December 1.
