Progressives Impressed By Obama's Words On Immigration Deal

President Barack Obama told six progressive leaders that he will push hard on comprehensive immigration reform early in his second term, according to the Huffington Post. The Web site interviewed these progressive leaders, who remained anonymous, following a closed-door meeting with the president.

Those interviewed expressed a pleasant surprise about how committed Obama appeared on making sweeping new immigration legislation a reality. As PI reported on Monday, last week's election results may spur bipartisan action on immigration reform legislation.

However, the sources also told HuffPo that Obama remained fuzzy on the details of what comprehensive immigration reform would look like.
