Tom Barrett won the Wisconsin primary election yesterday and will face Scott Walker in the general election in June.
A poll by Marquette University Law School has found that the Republican Wisconsin governor and Democratic challenger Barrett are in a dead heat. Of registered voters, Barrett is leading 47 percent to 46 percent. Of likely voters, Walker is leading by one percentage point, 48 percent to 47 percent.
For the November presidential election, President Barack Obama is leading former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney 51 percent to 42 percent.
Walker is facing a recall election due to his union-busting bill that pulled majority of union workers' collective bargaining rights last year. The Republican governor is also under fire for undoing Wisconsin's Equal Pay Enforcement Act this year and his continued attacks on women's reproductive rights.
