Attaining a good education is often touted as the key to moving up in the world -- both economically and even socially. This theory is especially pressed upon those who may come from an under-privileged background. The old adage is: work hard, get good grades and you'll be able get into a good college. And going to a good college means that you can get a lucrative job once you graduate, if you do well and work hard.
