A new advertisement from the Quinn campaign hits what it has called State Sen. Bill Brady's "more gun, less regulation" approach to gun policy. The ad immediately hones in on Brady's opposition to an assault weapons ban. Here's the video:
The Quinn campaign has already published a detailed run-down of Brady's pro-gun positions (a list that serves as a corrective to the paucity of information about the issue on Brady's own website). Given the stark differences between Quinn and Brady on an assault weapon ban and other gun-related policy, the issue may continue to come up, though some commentators want a greater focus on jobs and the economy.
The Brady campaign's first ad, meanwhile, promised a balanced state budget with no tax increases, despite Brady's refusal to detail how, exactly, he'd pull that off. The candidates are each shelling out about $250,000 to run the advertisements in the Chicago television market, the Tribune reported.
