In response to the summer uptick in violent crime, Gov. Pat Quinn announced the formation of the Illinois Anti-Violence Commission on Sunday. The group will gather the testimonies of those affected by violence and introduce them to the Illinois General Assembly in November. Only time will tell if those stories will spark a wave of legislative action.
