Chicago Coal Ordinance Gets Some National Attention

Last week, we and several other local news outlets covered an ordinance introduced by Chicago Ald. Joe Moore (49th Ward) to force Midwest Generation to reduce carbon dioxide emissions at its two coal-fired power plants, located in the Pilsen and Little Village neighborhoods.  The story was then picked up by the national environmental website Grist.  Today, the Christian Science Monitor highlighted it as well, wondering if Chicago could be the first U.S. city to regulate coal pollution.
