The Case Of The Mystery Calls

Illinois' own Rep. Bill Foster's campaign is crying foul over a mysterious poll that's hitting voters in the 14th Congressional District. According to constituents who have received the robo call, a person posing as the congressman asks if his vote in favor of health care reform "would make it more likely or not" that he would get their vote in November. Here's where things get sneaky. Anyone who supports Foster's vote gets an "unable to read the reply" message, according to the Daily Herald. Nobody can tell where the call is originating from or who is paying for the poll.

Fosters' challengers in the upcoming election -- Republican Randy Hultgren and Green Party candidate Dan Kairisare -- are denying any involvement. The National Republican Congressional Committee suggests that the poll might just might be a figment of the Foster's imagination. Sure ...
