Companies and those who make robo calls have to keep a record of all the calls they make under a new state law Gov. Pat Quinn signed Monday.
The new law also requires those who operate an automatic telephone dialer for commercial purposes to document any calls they claim are exempt from do-not-call registries.
to a release from Quinn's office, the new consumer-protection
measure adds "teeth" to existing legislation and also boosts the
damages that may be sought by consumers if violations occur.
