Former Chicago Alderman Ambrosio Medrano was convicted Monday of bribery.
The former Chicago lawmaker previously served two-and-a-half years in prison back in the 1990s for accepting bribes while he was an alderman. Medrano was elected to Chicago's city council back in 1991 to represent the 21st ward.
This time around, Medrano was found guilty of conspiracy to commit bribery to lock in a hospital contract. Two others were convicted with Medrano today, and they all face a maximum sentence of five years' imprisonment.
Former Cook County Commissioner Joseph Mario Moreno pleaded guilty in connection with this case back in November.
