Election night is over and most of the results are in. Here's a rundown of some of the notable races in the Chicago suburban area as well as downstate.
In North Chicago, incumbent Mayor Leon Rockingham Jr., who's administration has faced scrutiny for police brutality, appears to be the winner in his race against Alderman Charles January Jr., with 56 percent of the vote.
Meanwhile in Romeoville, incumbent Mayor John Novak appears to have won his race against former Chicago Bear Steve "Mongo" McMichael, by a 61 percent to 39 percent vote.
The Blue Island mayoral race has been won by Blue Island Independent candidate Domingo Vargas, with almost 62 percent of the vote.
In Des Plaines, Matthew J. Bogusz won the race with 54 percent of the vote with 43 of 44 precincts reporting.

In the downstate races, Tom Gray won a fourth term in the race for Chatham village president, beating out Matt Mau.
For the Springfield School Board, incumbent Lisa Funderburg, Mike Zimmers and Chuck Flamini won their races. The battle between Donna Moore and Katharine Eastvold is not over as they are tied in the subdistrict 7 race with 749 votes each.
