Early voting begins today for the April 9 election, which includes the special election for the 2nd congressional district seat. There are 990 races on the ballot for the April 9 election, according to the Cook County Clerk's office, and 38 local referenda for voters to voice their opinions on.
"While turnout is usually low for the April election, the stakes are extremely high," said Cook County Clerk David Orr. "The outcome of these races determines everything from education policy to local tax and infrastructure decisions. Voters should have their say at the polls."
Early voting ends April 6. In addition to the Cook County Clerk's office in downtown Chicago, there are 43 locations where voters can cast their ballots, which can be found here.
