Eleven candidates vying for former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.'s seat
in the 2nd Congressional District debated before an audience Monday at
the Victory Apostolic Church in Matteson.
Brought together by the AARP, Social Security and Medicare took focus during the wide-ranging debate.

Halvorson, Larry Pickens, Joyce Washington, the Rev. Anthony Williams, Fatimah Muhammad, and Republicans Beverly Reid and Eric Wallace.
“We need to put affordability back in health care,” said Kelly. “It’s not the problem itself, but the soaring costs.”

Beale said people who make more than $250,000 should pay more
