The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has unanimously approved Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) for the job of Secretary of State. The nomination is now headed for a full Senate vote later this afternoon.
Kerry became a top pick after Republicans were highly critical of the expected nominee U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice.
Friday is expected to be Hillary Clinton's last day as Secretary of State.
