Fifteen freshman state legislators have been named to the Firearms Working Group created by Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon.
The group will work on concealed carry, among other gun-related issues, and are set to discuss firearm legislation with both the Illinois Council Against Gun Violence and Illinois State Rifle Association.
The lawmakers named to the group are: State Sens. Melinda Bush (D-Grayslake), Thomas Cullerton (D-Villa Park), Bill Cunningham (D-Chicago), Michael Hastings (D-Orland Park), Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill), Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield), Steve Stadelman (D-Rockford), Tom Demmer (R-Dixon), Scott Drury (D-Highwood), Charles Meier (R-Highland), Christian Mitchell (D-Chicago), Mike Smiddy (D-Hillsdale), and State Reps. Emanuel Welch (D-Hillside), Kathleen Willis (D-Addison), and Sam Yingling (D-Round Lake Beach).
