U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock of Peoria says he is considering a race for Illinois governor.
Other Republicans considering a run include State Sens. Kirk Dillard (Hinsdale) and Bill Brady (Bloomington), State Treasurer Dan Rutherford, and Bruce Rauner. But Schock is hoping that his fellow Republicans stay out of the race.
"The less bloodletting, the better," he told NBC Chicago.
On the Democratic side, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Bill Daley are thinking about challenging Gov. Pat Quinn.
