U.S. Senator Mark Kirk (R) is set to return to work on January 3, after a yearlong medical leave. Kirk suffered from a stroke last January.
Returning on the first day of the new Congress, Kirk is expected to walk up the steps of Congress to the Senate chamber. Last month, Kirk walked up 37 floors of the Willis Tower as part of a fundraiser for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, which has assisted him during his recovery.
