Democratic State Sen. Dan Kotowski of Park Ridge has introduced legislation that would require elected officials to disclose more information on their financial interests as a first step towards ethics reform in the state. The current disclosure form has not been revised in 40 years. Kotowski says he expects to get some push back from his colleagues on the issue, but is confident he can get the bill passed.
But even if the legislation fails during the current veto session, Kowtowski, who worked with Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon on the legislation, says he will introduce it again next session.
