The teachers' strike in Evergreen Park continues, with schools set to remain closed today and tomorrow. The strike is entering its second week, with teachers and the district in talks over salaries, retirement benefits and health care coverage. There is also disagreement between the school board and teachers as to how they will make up for the lost classroom time as a result of the strike.  

Five schools, serving some 1,800 students, are closed due to the strike of 210 teachers.
