Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney paid $1.9 million in taxes last year, which amounts to a 14.1 percent tax rate, according to his campaign.
Romney is set to release his 2011 tax returns later today, which will show that he paid an approximate 14 percent tax rate on $13 million in income last year.
Romney's tax advisers are also set to provide a letter showing a rundown of the candidate's tax liability betwen 1990 and 2009 and that he paid taxes each year, with the lowest rate being 13.66 percent. The letter will also indicate that the Romney gave an average of 13.45 percent of their income to charity during that time.
