U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Evanston) will join Freeport technology plant employees tonight in Evanston for a rally that calls on Mitt Romney to save the workers' jobs. As PI has reported, Sensata Technologies in Freeport is owned by Bain Capital, a company founded by Romney, the presumed Republican presidential nominee. Sensata plans to outsource 170 jobs to China, but the town of Freeport, Schakowsky and even Gov. Pat Quinn, have waged a spirited fight to make these layoffs a national issue.
The rally is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. this evening outside Bain Capital's Evanston headquarters. Check back in with PI for coverage of the event.
