The Illinois State Fair kicked off in Springfield yesterday and is offering a service for children just in time for the back to school season. Parents will be able to get their children free dental screenings and checkups at the state fair starting today. Illinois law requires that all children entering second through sixth grades receive a dental checkup prior to starting the school year.
Dental screenings at the state fair will be given at the Illinois Department of Public Health's Wellness on Wheels health van on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Illinois State Fair runs until August 19.
