Chicago Ald. Sandi Jackson (7th) said yesterday that her husband, U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson (D-Chicago), would return to his job and resume his re-election campaign. But Jackson could not say when her husband would return from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, stating that doctors are looking for "the right combination of medications." U.S. Rep. Jackson has been on a leave of absence since June 10.

Ald. Jackson acknowledged that she has also been struggling in her husband's absence. Some 7th Ward residents are critical of Jackson for not responding to their concerns about rising neighborhood violence.
