After a few months of relatively good jobs forecasts, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' March report revealed that the national economy added just 120,000 jobs last month, after adding more than 200,000 jobs during each of the previous three months. The unemployment rate dropped to 8.2 percent, but only because more people gave up looking for work. The unemployment rate does not count people who have stopped looking for employment or work part-time when they desire full-time jobs.
Illinois' unemployment rate has steadily dropped, declining to 9.1 percent in February.
It figures....job growth stalls, unemployment remains steady and the gas prices are at an all time high! We will be at $5.00 a gallon by summer! What gives with the White House NOT helping us with turning things around already!????
“If I don't have this done in three years, then there's going to be a one-term proposition.” - actual statement of Obama from an interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer on Feb. 1, 2009.
Make a case for it, be presidential.
Instead, Obama lectures and preens and blames everyone else. It’s S&P’s fault, or Congress’, or George Bush’s, or the rich’s, or it’s the greedy bankers, or oil companies, or insurance companies.
He’s one of the most eloquent presidents that we’ve had during an age when eloquence can reach everywhere. Yet few people now believe anything he says.
What does that say?
Mom....where are you and JT blogging nowadays? Keep me posted! My job is a dream! I mean that! I am pinching myself.
