Teachers at two high schools in the north suburbs of Chicago are on strike after late night negotiations between them and the school district failed, causing the educators to move for an immediate work stoppage. Negotiations, which have been taking place since April, went until 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning and although some progress was made on the financial end of the bargaining, but no final deal was reached. Students affected by the strike attend both New Tech High and Zion-Benton Township High School, which serve several north suburban communities.
There is no word as to when negotiations will continue between the teachers union and Zion-Benton Township High School District 126.
