State gaming officials have chosen a New York-based company to oversee the video gambling machines that will soon crop up in Illinois restaurants, bars, and truck stops. Scientific Games and the state of Illinois have reached an agreement on a six-year contract that is renewable in four-year terms if both parties choose to continue the partnership. The deal is potentially worth $69 million, depending upon use of the gambling machines.
General counsel for the Illinois Gaming Board said the machines could be seen in designated spots as soon as the fall, according to the Chicago Tribune.
