Thousands of protesters, including 200 Chicago residents, have converged at the offices of five Illinois congressmen in D.C. The local protesters from Stand Up! Chicago say the congressmen "shunned or ran away" from them as they came to their offices to request an end to corporate welfare. The ralliers visited the offices of U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk, U.S.
Rep. Joe Walsh (R-8),
U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-11), U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert (R-13) and U.S.
Rep. Don Manzullo (R-16).
The protesters are now taking K Street in D.C., which protesters say is
symbolic due to the bevy of lobbyist groups there serving the nation's
