Democratic candidate for the 26th district race fort state representative Kenny Johnson's campaign is released poll results showing him as the favored candidate. Johnson is running against Democrat Christian Mitchell for the seat being vacated by Rep. Kim du Blucet. The poll, commissioned by Johnson's campaign, was conducted by Communications Concepts on November 8 and November 9.
According to a press release announcing the poll results, "Johnson held a name identification advantage over Mitchell, 40.1% to 27.7%." The poll also found that Johnson's favorable/unfavorable ratings to be 20 percent and 6.4 percent, respectively. For Mitchell, the ratings are 10.1 percent and 5.7 percent, respectively.
Johnson came in second in the five-person race for the district seat in 2008. The 26th district encompasses the lakefront from the Gold Coast to 43rd St along with portions of Kenwood, South Chicago, South Shore, Washington Park and Woodlawn.
