The revised gambling expansion bill that a top regulator called "a piece of junk" legislation earlier today has failed in the Illinois House. Rep. Lou Lang sponsored the bill, which critics, like Illinois Gaming Board Chairman Aaron Jaffe, say did little to address the problems Gov. Pat Quinn had with the original bill. The revamped bill was voted down in a 58-53 vote.
Lang told the Chicago Tribune that it is likely some legislators voted against the bill for fear of how it could affect their chances in the March primaries.
