Cook County Clerk David Orr has announced a reduction in voting precincts for the upcoming election cycle, which will reportedly save $1 million. The number of suburban Cook County precincts will go down to 1,637 gtom 1,937 and will also save $500,000 every even-numbered election year.

"This is an enormous dividend from our investment in policies that make voting easier," Orr said. "Early Voting and absentee by mail have taken the pressure off in-precinct voting."
