Mayor Rahm Emanuel has announced that Merge Healthcare will add 200 jobs to the city of Chicago as well as 100 health kiosks. The kiosks will allow users to check their vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure and body mass index, for free.
“I am pleased that Merge Healthcare is adding these jobs for Chicagoans in health IT, a growing field for the future,” said Mayor Emanuel in a press release. “Additionally, their commitment to place 100 health kiosks around the city will allow Chicagoans to take control of their individual health and get crucial information that will help them live longer and better.”
The health technology company has also agreed to host its national convention in Chicago through 2014.
