Airport service workers and clergy from Arise Chicago and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) will host a forum on Thursday to discuss the "poverty-wage jobs" at Chicago airports. Chicago Alderman Ariel Reboyras (30th) is also scheduled to take part in the forum.
According to a press release, the Gateway to Poverty forum will cover the impact of the loy-paying jobs for airport employee, adding that "passenger service workers at O’Hare report that they are often paid below minimum wage and bring home as little as $10,000 a year."
The forum will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Chicago Temple First United Methodist Church, located at 77 W. Washington St.
