Sentencing for former governor Rod Blagojevich has been delayed "until further ordered by the courts", according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Blagojevich's sentencing hearing was scheduled to begin on October 6, but on Friday the newspaper reported that his attorney, Sheldon Sorosky, insisted that there would be a delay due to the upcoming trial of William Cellini. He is will go on trial October 3 on extortion charges alleging that he tried to shakeup a businessman for a Blagojevich campaign contribution. Judge James Zagel, who oversaw Blagojevich's trial, will hear the Cellini case and Sorosky said last week that sentencing of the governor would "taint the Cellini jury."
