Transit Workers Convicted Of Job-Related Crimes Will Lose Pensions
Gov. Pat Quinn approved a bill that takes away pension benefits from CTA, Metra and PACE workers who are convicted of crimes related to their positions. The new law, HB 3591, eliminates the public pensions for new incoming hires who disobey the law on the job. The law also puts the transit agencies in line with all other public servants eligible under the Illinois Pension Code, according to a release from Quinn's office.
