Protesters gathered outside of job fair held by U.S. Rep. Bob Dold (R-10) today demanding that he work to create jobs, warning that he will be voted out of office if he doesn't.
Citing a 9.65 percent unemployment rate in the district, the protest was meant to send Dold a clear message about their displeasure with his performance in Congress thus far. "Rep. Dold failed to take action to create any new jobs this year," reads a statement on today's action.
"Instead, he voted for a budget that would kill more than 2.5 million
jobs and give away more than $2.9 trillion in tax breaks for the richest
Americans and big corporations."
The protesters say they want Congress to stop giving CEO's, big business and hedge funds tax breaks and is calling on corporations to pay their fair share of taxes.
