An ordinance to create a special police unit for the high-entertainment area of North Halsted Street in Boystown is being pushed by Ald. Tom Tunney (44th Ward). This comes just days after an attack in the area was caught on tape, showing 10 men brutally assaulting another man. Boystown residents say there has been a spike in violence and Tunney said the new unit would be similar to the one that patrols Rush Street.
