Tammy Duckworth appears to be closer to a run for the 8th Congressional District, according to her political consultant Peter Giangreco. The Hoffman Estates Democrat, who ran for a seat in the 6th district back in 2006, left a high-ranking position at the Department of Veteran's Affairs in Washington earlier this week.
Duckworth began making calls today to put out feelers about her potential campaign. If she runs, she will be up against Raja Krishnamoorthi in the primary, who has reportedly raised $400,000 for the race this far. Last year, Krishnamoorthi lost a primary race for state Comptroller.
