The Chicago Transit Authority has eliminated 54 jobs as part of a cost-cutting initiative. Twenty-six managerial jobs and 28 other non-union positions were cut, saving the transit authority $15 million a year.
The CTA plans to save an additional $900,000 by delaying the hiring of certain positions.
